Orange

Orange is one of the top three recognizable mobile cell phone providers in the UK competing strongly against Vodafone and O2 for much of the same clientele.  With a major name backing its contract, it is unlikely that you would have much difficulty negotiating the terms of a contract or fear that the company will not follow through with an offer.

While Orange may offer reassurance to its customers, recently their offers have not been as value priced as competitors, but for a little bit more each month you get the satisfaction of knowing that your mobile service is in the hands of a very capable provider.

Also worth noting, is the fact that Orange has the most base stations of any UK provider offering excellent service coverage both in the UK and for customers who are travelling abroad which can be comforting to travellers and those who engage in many business trips year round.

A downfall to using Orange is that the company does not offer dongles and customers who use a USB modem stick can only expect to receive up to 1.8Mb speeds which is fairly low in comparison to other major mobile providers.  However, this rate should be up to at least 2Mb by 2012 due to a new partnership to increase speeds throughout the UK.

Orange only offers broadband contracts on an 18 month contract which can be off putting to those who are wary of commitment, but for a 3GB allowance that only costs £15 the commitment is not too pricey.  Beware however, each GB of over usage will round up and cost £15 per GB which can start to add up if you have a particularly heavy browsing month.
